Founded in 2017 by Ar. Sucheta Mehetre, Astha was born from a sense of responsibility rather than motivation. “Astha” means “devotion,” reflecting our core ideology—devotion to nature and the nation. The firm was established to address a critical gap in India’s building sector: the need for truly implementable, science-backed sustainable solutions. What began as a purpose-driven venture has evolved into a system-driven consultancy recognized across India for reliability, innovation, and delivery.

Ar Sucheta Mehetre, M.Arch. (Sustainability), is a veteran green building consultant with 18 years’ experience in architectural design and environmental due diligence. As a recognized sustainability specialist, she has steered projects under USGBC, IGBC, EDGE, GEMs GRIHA and WELL frameworks, and has facilitated hundreds of credits across diverse typologies.Sucheta is also a certified BRI Verifier (One of the first 5 verifiers in India)—an emerging and robust rating system designed specifically for the Indian context to assess the environmental performance of built environments. With this credential, she is empowered to verify projects under the BRI framework, ensuring that design and operational strategies contribute meaningfully to reducing carbon impact, safety measures against natural calamities, enhancing user well-being, and supporting climate-resilient infrastructure.
Her multi-dimensional expertise includes project feasibility studies, facilitation of design workshops, performance simulation, commissioning and post-occupancy evaluation. She is deeply committed to educating stakeholders and end-users to embed sustainability throughout the life cycle of buildings.
